founder’s update
The global pandemic and events leading up to the BLM protests have shown that taking care of our mental health is now both more difficult and more pressing.
That's why I wanted to update you on what's new with resurgo:
In January, I applied to Pitch at the Beach in Tulum and I was asking for your support for my application. And boy did you deliver! Some of you attended the event. The 30 initial subscribers lead or have founded organizations that support over 400,000 women. Many of you sent words of encouragement.
Out of 260+ founders that applied to present at Pitch at the Beach, I am thrilled to announce that, in no small part due to your support, resurgo was one of the 27 organizations accepted. On my birthday, January 12, I stood barefoot in the wind, and pitched my heart out (everyone was barefoot). I wasn’t selected to proceed to the next round of pitches in Istanbul, but I gained valuable feedback and a wealth of connections.
The event’s keynote speaker, Zev Siegl, who co-founded what is now known as Starbucks Coffee has been very generously advising me since then. With his help, resurgo’s momentum has continued.
We’ve brought on a temporary CFO with a background in subscription-based revenue models at Virgin Mobile UK, to evaluate and analyze our projected financials. Her expertise has elevated the forecasting process.
The resurgo algorithm is being finalized, with the help of a graduate research assistant from the University of Victoria, (one of Canada's top research universities). She is working on our project under the clinical supervision of a Masters in counselling and therapy.
We’ve hired male to join our otherwise all-female team. He’s our technical lead. Based in Bulgaria, he came highly recommended through personal connections. We are working together on developing resurgo’s first two platform features, which will enable us to commence beta-level enrolments and confirm our assumptions.
resurgo is going to seek initial funding from a $50,000 Kickstarter campaign. We are already working with an independent Kickstarter expert who is based in the UK. The campaign launches this fall. Our beta platform will enable us to reward Kickstarter backers.
We have intent indications from the first two therapists who will join our ecosystem.
The resurgo team is dedicated to bettering the mental health of female entrepreneurs and is working hard to release the beta version of the technology in late 2020.
