Seasoning is everything

After six years of housemates coming and going the spice drawer had become a little overwhelming.

You can imagine, most people don’t think to take their spices when they move.

So, the spice cupboard was overflowing with repeats of basics like paprika.

(This drawer is located in the shared home I moved to after spending 5+ months working / living in Mexico.)

Anyway, I was making soup the other day, scrabbling through this abundance, looking for pepper.

What I found at the bottom of the drawer was ancient, if the label was any indication.

“Vintage pepper” I said later, explaining to a housemate how the spice cupboard came to be organized.

This was a kind way to describe the pepper.

Other people might have called it old, out of date, past it’s prime.

I called it “vintage pepper” because that’s how I see things.

It’s a gift.

And one of the things I’m most thanked for as a marketing consultant and in programs like Create Your offer in seven days.
